Top 10 fastest bikes
Top 10 fastest bikes, hopefully we’ll be impressing the boys with this post. Here is an exhaustive list of top 10 fastest superbikes. We have tried our level best to gather information from various sources, and inter-tallied them. This seems to be a viable answer. Top speed would be considered here under testing driving conditions. If you’re about own anyone please do let us know how it feels to ride them. Here goes top 10 fastest bikes in the world.
1. Dodge Tomahawk

Engine: 10-cylinder 90-degree V-type
Top speed: 350 miles per hour (560 km/h)
Power: 500 horsepower (370 kW) @ 5600 rpm (45 kW/L)
Transmission: 2-speed manual
Among the top 10 fastest bikes in the world The Dodge Tomahawk is a Viper V-10 based motorcycle– a 500 horsepower engine with four wheels. The two front wheels and two rear wheels, make it look like a motorized quadricycle rather than a typical motorcycle. According to official specifications 0-60 mph times have been estimated at 1.75 seconds, with a top speed of 350 mph. But there are also reports that the top speed is 676 km/h (about 420 mph). Chrysler sold nine replicas through Neiman Marcus, for up to $555,000 each. The motorcycles cannot be legally driven on public roads. The unusual vehicle was launched at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. This bike tops the chart of top 10 fastest superbikes.

Engine: 1340 cc (82 cu in), 4-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve
Top Speed: 248 miles per hour (397 km/h)
Power: 197 horsepower (147 kW) @ 6750 rpm 147kW
Transmission: 6-speed, constant mesh
Standing 2nd in the list of top 10 fastest superbikes the name Hayabusa, translates directly from the Japanese as Pergerine Falcon, the bird commonly attributed of achieving speeds of over 200 mph (322 km/h) and predator of the common blackbird. The name Suzuki Hayabusa is a subtle reference to Honda’s competing Hawk models. When introduced in 1999, Suzuki Hayabusa overtook the Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird as the fastest production motorcycle. The first generation of the Hayabusa was called the GSX1300R and was powered by a 1299 cc (79.2 cu in) inline-4 liquid-cooled engine. In the US, the 2008 suzuki hayabusa will boast a price tag of $11,999 and stands still in the list of top 10 fastest bikes.
3. MTT Turbine Superbike Y2K

Engine: 227 miles per hour (365 km/h)
Top Speed: Rolls-Royce 250-C20 turbo shaft
Power: 320 horsepower (239 kW) @ 52,000 rpm
Transmission: 2-speed automatic
MTT Turbine Superbike, also known as Y2K Turbine Superbike, is the world’s second wheel driven motorcycle powered by a turbine engine, created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc and it appears just below Suzuki Hayabusa. Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison 250 series turboshaft engine, producing 238kW (320hp), this motorcycle has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (365 km/h), with a price tag of US$150,000. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the “Most powerful production motorcycle” and the “Most expensive production motorcycle”. Unlike other contemporary motorcycles (such as the Hayabusa), 2001 and later models of MTT Turbine SUPERBIKE do not have the 300 km/h speed limit self-imposed by Japanese manufacturers. MTT has achieved the 3rd rank among the top 10 fastest bikes.
4. Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird

Engine: 1137cc liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder
Top Speed: 190 miles per hour (310km/h)
Power: 114 kW (153 hp) @ 10,000 rpm
Transmission: Close-ratio 6-speed
Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird was the world’s fastest production motorcycle, after ripping the title away from the legendary Kawasaki ZX-11. Production of the Blackbird began in 1996 and halted in late 2007. The Blackbird was last imported to North America in 2003. The Blackbird was a founding bike in the hyper sport touring niche market. The Kawasaki ZX11 or Honda ST1100 may have been the first. This market has since expanded to include the Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki ZZR1200, Yamaha FJR1300, Kawasaki ZX14 and the redesigned Kawasaki Concours. In the US the CBR1100XX never sold as well as the Suzuki Hayabusa, though its owners all appreciate the smooth elegant lines of the bike and its dual counter balancer shafts which give the Blackbird its exceptional smoothness. Blackbird still keeps flying among the top 10 fastest super bikes.
5. Yamaha YZF R1

Engine: Forward Inclined Parallel 4-cylinder, 20 valves, DOHC, liquid-cooled
Top Speed: 186miles per hour (297 km/h)
Power: 128.2 horsepower (95.6 kW) at 10000 rpm
Transmission: Constant mesh 6-speed
Lets discuss 5th position in the list of top 10 fastest bikes in the world. Yamaha launched the YZF-R1 after redesigning the Genesis engine to offset the crankshaft, gearbox input and output shafts and this “compacting” of the engine yielded a huge dividend in that the total engine length was now very short. The Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle, introduced in 1998, was the first significant motorcycle in the true liter class (1,000 cc) “handling arms race” between the Japanese Big Four motorcycle manufacturers (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha). When introduced, it took the class closer to a true racing motorcycle, and increased the handling capabilities. May be some more improvements it might push it further to the top among the top 10 fastest bikes in the world.
6. MV Agusta F4 1000 R

Engine: liquid cooled, inline, 4 cylinder, DOHC, 16 radial valves
Top Speed: 185 mph (299 km/h)
Power: 174 horsepower (128 kW)
Transmission: multi-disc wet clutch, 6 speed cassette gearbox
The F4 1000 R was released in 2006 and came with a 174 horsepower (128 kW) engine. The F4 1000 R also has upgraded Brembo Monobloc radial brakes, forged black Brembo wheels, a carbon-nitride coated Marzocchi upside down fork and an upgraded Sachs rear shock absorber (compression & rebound damping adjustable in high & low speed range). The F4 1000 R engine does not utilize the TSS system. A 1+1 (Biposto) version is available that adds a pillion for a passenger. In August of 2006 an F4 1000 R was used to set a record for the fastest production class 1000 cc motorcycle of 185 mph (299 km/h) at Bonneville Salt Flats. This occupies the 6th position in top 10 fastest bikes in the world.
7. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11/ZZ-R1100

Engine: 1052 cc 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled
Top Speed: 176 miles per hour (283km/h)
Power: 108 kW (147 PS) @ 10,500 rpm
Transmission: 6 speed
Occupying 7th place among the top 10 fastest bikes is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11/ZZ-R1100 was produced from 1990-2001. It was marketed as the ZX-11 Ninja in North America and the ZZ-R1100 in the rest of the world. This bike held the crown of The World’s Fastest Production Bike for close to a decade with a record top speed of 283 km/h (176 mph). When the bike was introduced in 1990, the nearest production bike top speed was 16 km/h (10 mph) slower and it belonged to the ZX-10, the bike that Kawasaki was replacing with the ZX-11.
8. Aprilia RSV 1000R Mille

Engine: 998 cc 60 degree V-twin engine
Top Speed: 175 miles per hour (281 km/h)
Power: 105.24 kW (143.09 PS; 141.13 hp) @ 10000 rpm
Transmission: 6 speed, chain drive
The RSV Mille and limited-edition RSV Mille Factory are high performance V-twin powered motorcycles made by Aprilia with a 141 HP 998 cc engine built by the Austrian company Rotax. For 2006 the RSV Mille Factory won the Maxisport category for Masterbike 2006 and overall Masterbike of the year. The Aprilia RSV Mille is a super bike motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia from 1998 to 2003. It was offered in three versions, RSV Mille, RSV Mille R, and RSV Mille SP. And all of this kicks it to the 8th position among top 10 fastest production bikes. Among the Aprilia series, aprilia rsv 2004 or as people call it aprilia rsv 04 is also very famous. As the name suggests, Aprilia RSV 2004 was built in 2004 itself.
9. BMW K 1200 S

Engine: 16 valves, 4 cylinders, DOHC, horizontal in-line, liquid cooled
Top Speed: 174 miles per hour (278 km/h)
Power: 164.94 horsepower (120.4 kW) @ 10250 RPM
Transmission: 6 speed manual
With a very tough competition to Aprilia we have BMW with its K 1200 S. With enough raw power to shock even the most seasoned adrenaline junky, the K 1200 S hurls you from a dead stop to sixty mph in just 2.8 seconds. On 25 September 2004, BMW globally launched a radically redesigned K Series motorcycle, the K 1200 S, containing an all new in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine featuring 123 kW (165 hp). After the launch of K 1200 S, BMW unveiled the K 1200 R naked roadster, and the K 1200 GT sport tourer. So that was our 9th of top 10 fastest production bikes.
10. Ducati 1098s

Engine: L-twin cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled
Top Speed: 169 miles per hour (271 km/h)
Power: 119.3 kW (160.0 bhp) @ 9750 rpm
Transmission: 6 speed Chain
The Ducati 1098 is a 1099 cc L-twin sport bike manufactured by Ducati. It was announced on November 8, 2006 for the 2007 model year and replaces the 999. The 1098 makes a manufacturer claimed 160 horsepower, 90.4 ft-lb torque, and weighs 173kg. These figures give the 1098 the highest torque-to-weight ratio of any production sport bike ever made. When it comes to top speed it stands at a difference of 5 mph from BMW. Hopefully it’s quite a safe distance for BMW for few years to come as Ducati might stand at last in top 10 fastest bikes for a while.
So these were the mean machines! the top 10 fastest production bikes on earth.

like the site, great work! Perhaps needs to be updated as BMW last year introduced the RR… which beat the Hayabusa (#2 bike) in you list. Please check it out. Also there is a new BMW this year with a in line six, replacing the K1300GT, it is a K1600… that would be an interesting test as well.

Hayabusa does 397km/h? no it does not.. this is bullshit.. whole list..
May 11, 2010 - 11:10 am
Great site fella. The Hayabusa built in 1999 was unrestricted and the fastest at around 315kph.
As much as I loath Kawasaki, they have put their ZX1400 on the road but it is restricted, as everything at the top end is now, so the ’99 Busa is still and will be forever second on your list.
Cheers
Max
May 12, 2010 - 5:37 pm
#26 Tyler.. you’re on glue man… My STOCK busa will eat a V-MAX alive in 4th gear even if I was hauling Tracy’s weight along with my own. Think I’m talking trash… I own one of each. PWNED !

The 1983 Honda Magna V65 had a top speed of 180 mph why did it not make the list
May 27, 2010 - 5:20 pm
none of them seem to have more than 130mph.. check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Magna
May 27, 2010 - 6:33 pm
the wiki website that you linked says it has a top speed of 173 so it would still be #10 on your list
June 13, 2010 - 1:25 am
the mv agusta 312r has a top speed of 312kmph and is the fastest in the world. do your research.
June 13, 2010 - 11:17 am
list is not for 2010, moreover, Tomahawk is faster than that by a good number
June 13, 2010 - 6:18 pm

July 14, 2010 - 9:05 am
man .. the bikes ar limited with a 636 kawasaki , yamaha r6 , suzuki gsxr600 you can get 300 km/h if you take out the limitters .. r1, zzr1100, blackbird 1100 they can go with 320 km`h easy .. if you take out the limitters
July 28, 2010 - 11:44 am
the bikes are sweet i saw a thing though on google about a 8600cc bike i would imagine it would blow past everything on this list in half a second so y is it not up there
i will try to find the link again and post it here
u should also add top 10 fastest cars
top 10 clasics(carwise)
July 29, 2010 - 10:49 am
I tried riding a Suzuki Hayabusa once on a track and it was so scarey, so I dont want to know about the Dodge Tomahawk.
October 13, 2010 - 4:07 am
i like to ride on fast motorcycles like the Ducati or even the fast bikes of Honda~:.
February 25, 2011 - 3:53 am
Guess you never heard of Vyrus 985 C3.4V 155bhp 292km/h should be at least #6. It came out in 2008 and has a Ducati engine

My 2000 kawasaki zx12r is just as fas as the haybusa. There are several tests done and they concluded that they are rider specific
May 8, 2011 - 11:01 am
It is obvious that you don’t veify your information. Show me the video of a Tomahawk doing the speeds you posted. The video I’ve seen online was some guy doing a short run with max speed of about 50 mph. Actually, I will bet you $100 that Tomahawk will become unstable and will crash way prior to reaching the speeds you posted.
A modified Hayabusa is now stands at more than 248 mph – again update your research.
Like so many things onnline, you just do copy/paste without verification, and then stop updating.
May 8, 2011 - 11:11 am
Just wanted to add that a stock non-modified Hayabusa will stop accelerating at around 190-200 mph although it will be very stable at those speeds. A significant modification is required to push the top speed further. Not to mention that nowadays all production stock motorcycles are artifically limited to 186 mph (300 kmh) for political reasons. And yes, I own one – 2001 model, still unrestricted.
May 8, 2011 - 11:51 am
And on the final note, as I read further I noticed how inaccurate you information is:
5. Yamaha YZF R1
Top Speed: 186miles per hour (297 km/h)
6. MV Agusta F4 1000 R
Top Speed: 185 mph (299 km/h)
One would think that if 186 mph is about 297 kmh, then 185 mph would be less than 297 kmh, but according to you it’s 299 kmh.
May 11, 2011 - 5:50 am
1.185mph is not 299kmph
2.Thats a Ninja600r/Zx6r not a ZX-11/ZZ-R1100
3.Hayabusas dont go that fast (except with mods)
4.Cbr1000rr, 1198s, zx10, Vyrus 985 C3.4V etc are faster than Mv agusta F4.
5.These guys copied you word for word http://wikileaksnews.net/top-ten-fastest-bikes-of-2010.html
May 18, 2011 - 11:59 am
I must say, in the list of fastest production bikes, the Dodge Tomahawk does not belong. With only 9 examples being sold and top speed never being officially verified, its built for the video games. Moreover the stock Hayabusa cannot exceed 186 mph, making the MTT Y2K the fastest production motorcycle in the world. You might want to check out the more powerful MTT Streetfighter as well. And as far as absolute acceleration for any bike is concerned, check out the Killacycle!
May 26, 2011 - 5:16 am
must hai bhai…….. but i can’t understnd logik of Dodge Tomahawk bike..
June 23, 2011 - 5:02 pm
A stock gsxr600 won’t hit 175mph but it will display it, here’s bit of copying and pasting from motorcycle news uk 2006 review
:The Suzuki GSX-R600′s 16v DOHC engine feels strangely weedy, even though it’s got a mid-range boosting exhaust valve, which makes a very tall first gear feel taller still. But dial in 10,000rpm and the GSX-R600 flies, blurring the digital speedo until the LCD figures clock in over 175mph (a true 163mph). Amazing.
July 6, 2011 - 10:51 pm
07 08 gsxr 1000 186 hp.. ill smoke ur Busa bring it
July 30, 2011 - 2:17 am
The list seems a bit strange. The dodge I guess you can consider a real bike instead of a ridiculous quad but you can not base it as the fastest ever bike when it’s ‘claims’ have never been tested fully. The list should have the y2k on top for top speed. The mv agusta corsa f4 312r hit a little over 312 kph (hence the name). The Ducatii desmosedici also should have a note in there as it has been clocked over 300kph. The hayabusa should be 2nd but only with a top speed of 320kph ish. The busa stock won’t climb any higher then that. Including the ridiculous 400kph top speed stated isn’t fair to the other bikes. As the only busa’s that’ll do this have been turbo charged. Turbo charging any of these bikes would significantly change their top speed. So the top speed should be changed to the stock number. The R1 listing shouldn’t just be the R1. All the litre bikes should be listed as they have all contributed to the growth in performance for litre bikes. The gsxr, zx10r’s, r1′s and the 1000rr all deserve the 186mph note. Simply listing one doesn’t do justice to how competitive the 1000cc bikes are with each other. The new BMW is definitely worth checking as this will beat the japs for top speed. The zx14r (kawasaki) will also give a stock hayabusa a run for top speed if de-restricted. Simply putting a list together of bikes that come up when you type in fastest bike into google doesn’t make up for being a bike fanatic for years. If you want to make a list of bikes that are fast that have different styles then name it so. The bmw k1200 doesn’t belong here in a top speed competition. It is commonly considered one of the fastest 0-100 bikes. As it doesn’t suffer from wheelie issues.
To do this properly and in the style you seem to have targeted. I would suggest splitting the top 10 into different segments. I.e. classes. Top speed by segment.
experimental – Dodge
Exotic – y2k
hypersport – hayabusa – zx14r
1000cc superbikes – desmosedici and f4 312r (bmw
1000rr and japs could get a mention here).
600 supersports – Unsure which carries title as top speed winner. gsxr r6 600rr and zx6r all have huge stats. 2011 zx6r I believe has highest top end of the lot. (Just)
0-100 – vmax and bmw k1200 s.
100-0 – buell are pretty famous for powerful petal brake disks mounted on the outside of rims. Though realistically there will be a light special bike somewhere that stops ridiculously quickly.
Modded bikes – hayabusa (modded stats)
Without reference to why they were picked there is no reason to list them. Fastest is ambiguous. Fastest at what.
July 30, 2011 - 2:18 am
Sorry (That was longer then intended… hahaha)
