Maybe because of the more popular de-tuned ( non-49 state) birds. The bike sold in the US ( except Calf) in 97 thru 98 has 164 hp with 92 lb torque and top speed 183.5 mph. The only birds that people hear about are 139 hp : Europe or California bird with 157 hp and 176 mph. Please get your facts straight! There is a lot of false info out about the Blackbird. And then you have Ducati Desmosedici (305kmh) and BMW S1000RR(320kmh). Also the blackbird had a top speed of 286kmh. Wow this list is wrong.
