10. Mexico

Total Productions : 2,191,230

On the tenth position among the list of top 10 motor vehicle manufacturing countries is Mexico. In 2008, Mexico produced a hopping number of 2,191,230 cars. This has beaten Canada’s number the previous year. In 2007 Canada was in the list, and the same was beaten by Mexico in the year 2008.

Now who’d know India would even be in the list? yes it is, India houses many great motor vehicle manufacturing companies like, Tata, Mahindra, Maruti, and it is definitely guessable that India should be there in the list with its total population being the second top in the entire world. With economy growing bigger and better and infrastructure solidifying itself, number of cars or any other vehicles for that matter is bound to increase in this country. Spain being a small nation has not fallen behind in the race, with 2,500000+ cars in the year 2008, Spain has climbed upon India in the list and gained 8th position. The main cars that are produced in Spain are the very famous European Brands which are all time best selling. Naming a few of the brands which sell well in Spain and thus produced well are, General Motors, Renault, Volkswagen. In case of Volkswagen, Volkswagen Golf, Jetta and Beetle sell a lot.


7. France

France goes a step ahead produces a few thousand cars more than what Spain did and thus France has acquired 7th place in the list of top 10 motor vehicle manufacturing countries. France’s total motor production amounts to 2,568,978 in the year 2008. Which happens to be just little above the Spain’s mark. Some of the notable car brands that are manufactured and sold in a humongous number are Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, Acadiane, Picasso, Saxo. These are a few to name.

6. Brazil

Total Production: 3,220,475

In 2007 list, Brazil had not done well, but in 2008, Brazil seems to have outperformed many a countries. With a production number of 3,220,475, Brazil sits at the 6th position among the top 10 motor vehicle manufacturing countries. One of the most notable and heard of car brand from Brazil is the Fiat. With the launch of New Fiat Palio, Fiat has taken Brazil by storm. Fiat Palio is selling crazy in almost all the countries Internationally. Brazil also sees purchases of other international brands like GM, Ford, Volkswagen etc.

Hard to believe what a small country can do right? South Korea completely defies its geographical boundaries. How the heck can someone pack everything in that small piece of land anyways? Can you imagine South Korea produced 3,806,682 cars in 2008 (where did they park these anyways? Germany sits at 4th position with an unarguable number of 6,040,582 cars produced in the year 2008. You tell me, who can beat Germany at technology and innovation? One of the bestest selling car which makes cutest of the car of all time, is from Germany. The Volkswagen. They make beetle which I believe is the cutest car. Some of the best selling German Car brands are Audi, BMW, Porsche, Smart.

3. USA

With an incredible production number of 8,705,239, USA stands out to be the third most car manufactured country in the world. Now you know where the cars end up in USA right? Half of them in the hands of drunken drivers. No wonder why so many people die in USA because of car accidents alone. Now this might sound funny, the best selling brand in USA is a Japan based car company. You’re right. Honda :) (Hopefully they planned this right from the world war). Other best selling brands in USA are Mazda, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, Pontiac, Dodge, Nissan, Volkswagen etc.

2. China

Total Production: 9,345,101

Oh man I’m tired of writing China everywhere. I think the next super power is not USA or Russia, its just China. China is a superpower just by the sheer number of people who live in it. With a number of 9,345,101 cars produced in the year 2008, China stands at 2nd position in the list of top 10 motor vehicle manufacturing countries. One of the best selling car brand in China which is China based itself is Geely. Geely has been making wonderful cars in China since a long time. And now Geely has plans to expand its production internationally. Other best selling cars in China are Nissan, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Suzuki, Honda, General Motors.

1. Japan

Total Production: 11,563,629

Who produced the most number of cars in the year 2008? That’s right. An Island whose ground always shakes :) . With a mind boggling number of 11,563,629 cars produced in just one year, Japan deserves to stand atop the top 10 motor vehicle manufacturing countries list. Japan has been and still is the house of one of the best selling cars of all time – Honda. Honda itself has produced millions of cars which still roar on road in many countries. Many of the cars that are made in Japan are exported to other countries. As Japan happens to be a very hard working countries, it has made possible to be the owner of the best selling car brand factory. Another car company that belongs to Japan and has revolutionized the car industry is Nissan. Nissan has made many best selling cars. Other brands that are sold in Japan are Toyota, Suzuki, Mitsubishi etc. And these all happen to be a Japan Based companies.
